REGIONS

Our regions are practically divided like a triangle in 3 separate areas that each one of them is unique and different in what they have to offer, in their landscapes, attractions and lifestyle.

North
Coast or Cibao:

It’s known for its green mountains, fertile land and ideal beaches for extreme sports. Some of the most known places are Puerto Plata which is ideal for diving in the Atlantic and Cabarete for the lovers of Windsurf and Kitesurf. The central region or Cibao is the ideal place for local or international tourist to rest in the tranquility of the mountains, to have fun while experiencing extreme sports like rafting or to simply enjoy the beach.

The Cibao is the most fertile zone of the Island and during your journey you will be able to contemplate beautiful landscapes surrounded by coffee, rice, green plantains and vegetables fields. The city of Santiago is located in the Cibao region and represents the second largest city of the country which also has an attractive night life.

East Coast:

The East Coast comprehends places with kilometers of crystal clear beaches and a diversity of hotel infrastructures for fun and relaxation. The region most important destinations are Punta Cana and Bavaro where you can enjoy “All Inclusive” resorts of white sand beaches. The East coast is known for its extensive production of sugar cane in La Romana and this town is famous for the upscale areas of Casa de Campo and Bayahibe.

The region is ideal for beach tourism, scuba diving and snorkeling. Also golf lovers will be able to enjoy the best golf courses of the island designed by the recognized personalities such as P.B Dye, Jack Nickolaus and others. The East coast is proud of to have the best baseball players of the country.

South Region or Southwest:

The Southwestern region is the most arid and desertic zone of the island and has an unique beauty due to the combination of the dry landscapes and the blue hues of the Caribbean sea. The Southwestern region has many National Park and preserved zones where you can enjoy seeing iguanas and flamencos and also historic trace of the aboriginal era of the country. The region beaches vary in waves and sand texture and color, but definitely is the best area for ecotourism and direct contact with Nature. Towns includes: Barahona, Pedernales, Independencia and Bahoruco.
