About Cueva Fun Fun:

Cueva Fun Fun (Cave Fun Fun) is one of the biggest caves in the world with approximately 25 km located on the ranch called Rancho Capote. The Fun Fun cave has 8 km that had been explored and only 2.5 km are adapted to for an excursion.

Inside the cave are thousands of bats and the sound emitted when flying is similar to "fun fun", for this reason was given the name of the cave. At the Fun Fun Cave visitors can appreciate the beauty of its colorful tunnels and gigantic corridors, also can observe stalactites and stalagmites, petroglyphs and rock art.

The excursion to visit the Fun Fun Cave is managed by Rancho Capote which takes about 4 hours. The tour begins after breakfast is prepared in the Rancho Capote for the visitors. Then, the visitors receive the safety equipment (helmet light, boots, and harness) and the necessary instructions from the guides, who always escort throughout the journey.

The group immediately starts a ride and then walks through the woods passing by the National Park Los Haitises to reach the mouth of the cave, then prepares to descend by rappelling from a height of approximately 20 feet to the interior of the cave. After riding back to Rancho Capote, the journey ends with a delicious lunch. After lunch, is up to the visitor to enjoy swimming in the river, take another ride or simply enjoy the beautiful scenery around the area.

The tour is not permitted for children under 11 years old. Hotel pick up can be arranged with the tour management.

Recommendations:

You must bring comfortable clothes to do abseiling, hiking and horseback riding.Also, pack a towl, extra underwear or clothing to change at the end of the tour.
