Religious

 

The country has several Catholic religious festivals marked in the calendar year and are non-working days for Dominicans:

 

1 January: New Year

January 6: Epiphany King’s Day

January 21: Day of the “Virgin of La Altagracia”

Mobile date according to the liturgical calendar: Easter

Mobile date according to the liturgical calendar: Corpus Christi

September 24: Day of “Virgin of Mercy”

December 25: Christmas

 

Across the country will find nice churches to visit each characterized by being different from the others and bear the heat of the people that represent it. Also, the Dominican Republic has the honor of having the first cathedral of the New World located in the city of Santo Domingo.
